Inauguration 2009
A crew of Phoenix14News and Pendulum staff members traveled up to Washington for Barack Obama’s inauguration. Throughout the days leading up to January 20th, I filed reports and did live-shots for our broadcast, and posted my stories to YouTube and Facebook before they even aired.

The Capital the night before Inauguration
Continue to see the reports I put together.
Here is a story I shot and edited on the Sunday, which aired Monday night. The freezing cold in Washington was an adventure, but authorities were worried it could be dangerous.
We also tried to “localize” our reports so our viewers back home could relate to the big day. We found a group of police officers from Greensboro who were helping out with Inauguration security…so we followed them around.
Filing day-of stories on deadline…all while miles away from our broadcast studio… really taught our crew about real-world reporting. And getting the stuff on the web hours before it was to be broadcast was a cutting edge way of reporting the news.
